Dogs in Fashion Campaigns

So I was reading bagaholicboy's blog (http://bagaholicboy.com/2010/08/bagaholicboy-muses-211-of-feline-persuasion/#comments) the other day on felines being featured in fashion campaigns and it got me thinking, what about dogs? or how about other animals? So I went google searching.....

Here is what I found. Although this research is clearly statistically insignificant, google image and google search results returned ALOT MORE results when I searched for fashion campaign dogs (around 3.85 million) compared to cats (around 2million), too bad these aren't really related to fashion (it's because humans like to dress up their dogs and prance them around in parades!!!!!)

Anyway, back to fashion....so I only found a couple of fashion campaigns that actually featured dogs in their campaigns. Funnily enough, one only had dogs in the campaign (without a female model) and the other only had a dog in the background (rather than photographed with a female model). I guess dogs doesn't really represent anything 'fashionable' and 'trendy'?
Here are the campaigns. F/W 09 Moncler. These Golden Retrievers are SUPER CUTE. Shot by Bruce Weber. These are actually his dogs. So original and so hip.

S/S 10 Stella McCartney - featuring Lucky The Dalmatian: Stella's own dog while growing up (shot by Linda McCartney). Totally upstaged Natalia Vodianova.
So if designers and photographers are using their own dogs in the photos, I wonder whether the cats belong to any of the designers? (probably not....). It's actually not the first time Stella used animals in her campaigns too (albeit, not real ones...but nonetheless supercute and super PETA friendly!)

F/W 09 Stella McCartney. Love you Bambi.

So here's a challenge to you, can you find my any fashion campaigns that features sharks? or spiders? or crocodiles? (not crocodile skin either, a live one pls). I'm just saying....

my random shopping thoughts no.1

love it when i grab things at a bargain and people guess my bargains are much more expensive than what i got it for and love it when these bargains arent those where it lasts for only 3 weeks but actually 1 yr!!

the red wedges i got a year ago and still loving them as much as when i saw them the first time in a small boutique. The clogs i got from H&M... love the chunky wooden heels... exactly what i wanted to find!! the best feeling is finding exactly what you have been looking for... dont you agree? Whos tried looking for weeks and weeks something and never been able to find the right product... and when you dont need to find that thing, u find it during random shopping but never buy it cos you dont think u needed it!! i tell myself to buy it everytime before i forget!
yes im in self satisfaction right now haha

p.s have been wearing these shoes till the wood breaks in summer

Love it or hate it - emma watson's new hair

WOW!! what a change!!! its totally different from what she had before... and this was just posted on her blog without stating her intentions but my thoughts are she just wants to completely have a new image and steer out from the cute little Harry potter girl and wants a career move... But if she purely just wants an edgy haircut .. sorry mate!! wrong move!! cos personally i think its really ugly!

Short hairs arent easy to rock, you really have to have that style and personality, and emma looks like shes aged 10yrs .... if this is not very a well planned our career move, then i have no idea what shes thinking

Your thoughts? love it or hate it!

Kate moss did sth similar 10 yrs ago which i loved!! sorry maybe im biased but she did score a chanel coco madmoiselle ad with this new haircut!!

Michelle Williams: Best example of how an haircut can bring you to a whole new image and look. I use dislike her, thought she was not pretty and all around nothing special at all.... but after her cut... i find her really pretty and edgy, a whole new michelle williams trying to manage her life leaving the sad past behind! GREAT MOVE!! gold stars for the hairstylist!

Jelly shoes

I have quite a lot of jelly items in my wardrobe cos I can get a piece of the brand without paying the full price.

I saw the below Jelly sandals and I absolutely adore it, after some research I found they were actually from Tod's which I find it hard to believe... price wise ... its really good value cos its cheaper than the marc jacobs jelly flats!!

How cute is the silver fuscia tassel in the middle???!!!!

P.S Im really inspired by how neat this feet looks, like sometimes when i take pictures of sandals, I get really put off by some of the ungroomed feet i see like the "corns" on toes, the cracking nails, peeling skin etc... im definately going to the pedicures more often now!

NOOOOO!!! CHANEL ... NO!!

For those Chanel fans who havent got ANY chanel bag in their bag collection (i.e me) then guys.... bad news!!! Chanel has marked up its price by a WHOPPING 30% in the accessories category ie bags, shoes and jewellery... buying Chanel bag seems further and further away :( The price of my wallet now is equivalent to the price of a miu miu bag.... that just sounds silly!!

Im a die hard fan of chanel in every aspect... and have always dreamed for owning a quilted 2.55 leather handbag with the double C on the lock, but Im not sure if i will buy it anymore if the bag is starting to approach the price of a hermes. All in all, hermes is much more classier altho 2 different styles! I can get satisfaction from buying the bag AND value for my money... win win situation!

so why am i even thinking about this? not like i am buy ANY of these 2 bags anyway.....

so what does everyone think about this move? I mean, yes, of course all women thinks its stupid but rationally, is this a good strategy?

Lea T, World's First Transexual Model

I know this isn't the latest news out there but I only read about her story today. Lea T, born Leandro Cerezo, is probably the world's first high-profile supermodel (assuming there are others but their identity is more obscure). I applaud the fact that Givenchy is willing to give her a shot at a major campaign (FW 2010 / 11) knowing fully well how this could impact her life once the news break out. (While saying that, Givenchy must know this will give them significant amount of exposure so why not, it's not as though they're doing that well but I give them the benefit of the doubt).

Anyway, I digress.....the person I actually want to talk about here is Riccardo Tisci, the Creative Director of Givenchy. From what I read, it seems as though he is loyal to his friends and is extremely supportive in helping Lea T find herself. He gave her a big break in fashion and allowed her to find her self-confidence even as she undergoes the sex-change in the future. To point out another anecdote, Riccardo also uses Italian Model Mariacarla Boscono on a regular basis in his runway shows and ad campaigns since Tisci has had a friendship with her since before his days at Givenchy. Seems like a pretty good friend to me.

Good luck with everything Lea T.
